Everyman and his dog have a "special edition" Defender on sale now. It's the done thing. With such a vast array of options, a company really has to do something special with a Land Rover to stand out. Wildcat Automotive (makers of the famous, desert conquering Dakar vehicles) are well equipped to produce a truly awesome vehicle.
Meet the Defender V8 DKR. Under the hood is the GM 6.2 V8 LS3, producing a seething 430 HP and over 540NM of torque. With optional power upgrades, this can be boosted to 550bhp & 640NM! Behind the engine sits a 6 speed auto box. Together, this pairing will achieve 60 in 5.9 or 6.5 seconds (depending whether it's the 90 or 110 model).

Note this DKR has 'skinny' winter tyres fitted as per the customers requirement. Can you spot the standard Defender at 0:42?
Wildcat's website states that the vehicle sits on a modified chassis and has a lightweight aluminium body (don't all Defenders?). Intertwining the chassis, you'll find a neat stainless twin exhaust system.
All this extra power needs equivalent stopping force, so the original disc brakes have been swapped for drilled and vented items, with Bilstein dampers keeping the whole lot firmly stuck to the road. To make way for the brakes, 18 inch wheels have been fitted, 20" rims are available as an option. The interior has been suitably tricked up too, with leather seats, heated front and rear screens as standard and extra sound-proofing added.
Available options include an onboard rally computer, an aerodynamic styling pack, B6 armour protection (!!!) and a hydraulic underbody jacking system.
