There is a place that facts and fiction are one, where misinformation is turned into a scoop and some people are misguided. That place is the internet. Recently, spurned on by the hotly anticipated new Defender model, every man and his dog have been trying to show that they know something we don't. They post a semi-convincing photo, perhaps to get a reaction, perhaps because they have nothing else to do. Well, we've reacted, by busting a fake photo of the 2016 / 2017 Defender.

Searching Google for "2016 Defender" shows this vehicle. This is often confused as a Defender replacement, thanks to it's square and rugged looks. It appears often on the Defender Fan pages online. The convincing Land Rover lettering on the bonnet and SVX style front end only seem to validate this simple Photoshopped fakery. It's actually a photo of the Ford Bronco concept from way back in 2004! The side of the vehicle has been slighting elongated, it looks fairly legit at low resolution.
