If you are looking to get more out of your car, upgrading it to something that can handle off-road terrain will make a massive difference, but you can also take inspiration from what the Land Rover does and alter your own car into something that is ready for going off-road. So what are some of the things you can change to turn it into an off-road beast?
Your Tyres
Off-road tyres will make a massive difference to your vehicle quality. If you want to venture off-road, you will need to upgrade to 4x4tyres and high-quality 4x4 rims, but make sure the tires have deep tread, so you can venture off-road safely.
Skid Plates
If you are heading off-road, there is a high likelihood that you will skid. Whatever vehicle you have, the underneath will hit a lot of adverse terrain. A high-quality skid plate will act as a piece of armour for the front of the vehicle, which protects the radiator and engine pan from any problems like grits and mud.
Lift Kit
This is a vital upgrade if you need more room underneath the vehicle. If you are planning to go off-road regularly, having that few extra inches off the ground mean that obstacles won't jump up into the underside of the car. A few inches will make a massive difference. There are a number of different lift kits on the market, so make sure you do your research.
A Hitch
If you're going to start towing things, you will need a hitch on the back of the vehicle, and this is a great way to mount things so you can make life easier for yourself when you're venturing across the country and you want to bring surplus items like bikes and barbecues!
A Winch
If you are in a tricky situation, a winch can be a lifesaver. If you ever go off-road, you could fall into a ditch if you're not careful. But a strong winch is not just great for you, it can help other off-roaders if they need any support.
Roof Rack
If you are going for a quality off-road experience, you need extra equipment. A roof rack is a lifesaver, and some heavy-duty straps will make sure that all your extra storage is sturdy and secure.
Quality Suspension
You need to replace your suspension with heavy-duty bushings and springs. This is going to lift your vehicle up more and will make it stronger in the long run. Going off-road will cause problems in the manner of a snapped bolt, which could leave you stranded. High-quality bushings made of polyurethane will make a massive difference.
A Bull Bar
Sometimes, we find that it's better to drive through something than around it, and a solid bull bar will reduce damage to the front of the vehicle and make a big difference when you are driving in stormy weather.
There are so many different things you could do to look after it and give your car high-quality off-road modifications. So think on, and give your car the upgrade it deserves.
