FUN ROVER STORAGE

As I write this, we are slowly cruising across the Irish Sea on 'Ulysses', the world's biggest roll-on-roll-off car ferry. The reason I'm telling you this, is because it is connected to our next project.

What next for FunRover?

For a while now, we've been receiving questions about what we'd do after our tribute build. I wanted it to be something equally as interesting, so that it can form the basis of a video series once again. After a discussion online the other day, John Kostuch of Centre Steer podcast (you should check out the Centre Steer podcast, it's the only Land Rover podcast in the world!) posed the question "has anyone ever crossed the Atlantic in an amphibious vehicle?". The answer is yes, a man known as Ben Carlin has, in a Jeep that the US army felt unfit for service. Carlin completed a circumnavigation of the world in the vehicle, nicknamed "Half-Safe".

Let's get this project floating

After reading Ben's story, we want to build ourselves an amphibious Land Rover & then make an attempt at the world record for the crossing of the Irish sea by amphibious Land Rover. We will be blogging and updating you all on the progress of this project, taking you along as we start planning & building. For now, we need your help.

We need help

A project of this magnitude is going to take a lot of funds, time & resources. If you are interested in seeing this come to life, then please let us know whether you'd be happy donating to the build in anyway, whether it be via:

  • PayPal
  • Patreon
  • Our online store
  • With your time / expertise
  • With a support boat / crew

to help us gauge whether we should even progress with the idea.
