JLR Marketing having really started upping the ante recently. They managed to convince the former Stig, Ben Collins, to jump in a 5.0 V8 Range Rover Sport and point it nose-downards a half defrosted ski run. Ben dutifully works his magic down the 9 mile long run, known by locals as "the Inferno", hitting speeds of 96 m.p.h. The course descends through 7,000 feet vertically, and at times, has 75% gradient declines.
Surprisingly, the only modifications made are a roll cage, racing harness and slightly more rugged tyres. The airbags had to be disabled, but other than that, there's no trickery here. Just one very mad tamed racing driver and a Swiss mountain. 21 minutes and 36 seconds after setting off, Ben crossed the line, in what must be, the first time a vehicle has covered such a course.
