Cars are considered to be a commodity these days because of the modern world that we live in. Time is everything, and we do all that it takes to save it. Cars make it happen because it shortens the distance between your home and the next destination. Once we have a car, everything seems easier and faster for every member of the family. You don’t have to take public transportation anymore and you know how unsafe those can be. It can be very crowded during the rush hours and it leads to a very uncomfortable experience. These are the reasons why a car is very important to our everyday life.

You also need to take good care of your car in the process. For example, there are parts that you need to change because they are old or you really need better ones. One of the main parts that are really important is the headlights. These are needed for easier and safer navigation, especially at night. Most countries in the world have rules against driving without headlights. It is not just dangerous for yourself but for other drivers as well. Even though most places these days have streetlights, there are many others in which these lights do not really work. Learn more about these here.

In the market, there are three different kinds of lights used as headlights. These are LED (light-emitting diode), HID (high intensity discharge) and halogen lights. Out of these three, the halogen lights have been phased out because they have been replaced by the first two types. Let us discuss what makes one better than the other:

What Are HID Lights?

High intensity discharge lights have been replacing halogen lights since two decades ago. They have been used ever since because it has enough brightness and longevity for most cars. Many car aficionados also love HID lights because they give off a natural bluish hue. It adds a nice effect to the headlights making them better for those who want that classic stylish look.

HID lights are also used in many other lighting fixtures that need to be used in a wider scale like street lights as they last longer than them. Furthermore, they are also still available these days in many stores unlike the halogen ones which are rarer now because only a few people use them. You can even get HID headlights like shop Ledlightstreet.

What Are LED Lights?

On the other hand, light emitting diodes are new to the car scene. These are quite common for many gadgets and devices like laptops and TVs because they are small enough to fit. You can also use many of them to produce a brighter light which you can control. Most HID headlights will only have fewer bulbs than LED because they are substantially bigger. LED headlights, on the other hand, can be as many as you can fit in those areas. This makes it so much more versatile since you can easily control the brightness of the bulbs.

They are also not prone to overheating. Although they do heat up, it is not as much as HID lights or even the halogen ones. However, you still need to have a cooling mechanism inside so that the bulb will not be destroyed by its own heat. If you want to use LED on your car, you also need to install other devices to increase the voltage your car can handle. Its lights consume more power than halogen and HID lights, so you need to make adjustments with your car. However, these are even brighter than the previous options and they last even longer. Advanced technology has also improved these lights for the modern application, and there are many modifications that you can do with LED lights. The Verdict

In most cases, LED lights win because they have a longer lifespan and more durable than HID lights. However, they tend to be more expensive and brightness can also be its downfall. If your headlights are too bright, it can be a cause of an accident for other drivers. HID lights are great for those who want to save a bit more money and still have the lights that you need.
